MEET CHELSA
Chelsa’s personal experience informs how she approaches her work at MUSE, drawing on years of serving in her own neighborhood and local church community. She leads engagement efforts that center the people and organizations who are most impacted by decisions made.
She switched careers to urban planning as a way to work toward solutions for the disparities she saw across Chicago that were caused by planning and policy. She has written strategic plans, led community engagement and outreach, and provided technical assistance to community organizations. Prior to changing fields, Chelsa worked in accounting and most recently served as the Interim Assistant Director of Systems Government Costing at University of Illinois.
Chelsa has a Master of Urban Planning & Policy degree from University of Illinois Chicago and a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
