Roya Nassirpour - Associate

Roya Nassirpour (she/her) is a passionate planner interested in improving quality of life for all people safely and equitably. Roya previously worked as an Intern and Project Specialist for two years at the City of Champaign Planning and Development Department where she supported a variety of projects including rent studies, downtown plans, zoning administration, and more. As a Project Specialist, Roya coordinated efforts, events, and programming in an underserved neighborhood and specialized in equitable engagement. This project won the 2022 “Advancing Diversity and Social Change” award from the American Planning Association, Illinois Chapter.  

Roya received a Bachelor’s Degree in Urban Studies and Planning from the University of Illinois at Urbana – Champaign and was awarded most outstanding Undergraduate Planning Student. Upon invitation to the 4+1 program, Roya completed a Master’s Degree in Urban Planning from the university and graduated with honors. In her free time, Roya loves to explore new restaurants, paint, travel, workout, and hang out with her cat!
