MUSE provides ongoing Village-wide and business district planning for the Village of Forest Park. 

As Village Planner for Forest Park, MUSE coordinates with elected officials, developers, property owners and transit agencies on development and redevelopment in the Village. Specific duties include staffing the Plan Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals, reviewing and updating the Zoning Ordinance, and tying efforts to the Village’s Comprehensive Plan. 

We recently authored the Village’s Adult Use Recreational Cannabis Ordinance and have made amendments to the zoning ordinance that support contemporary uses and development trends including shared-use kitchens, co-working, and removing regulatory hurdles for restaurants in the downtown business district. 

The MUSE team represents the Village on its Economic Development Advisory Committee and conducts business outreach regarding ordinance amendments and the creation of the Village’s first-ever Special Service Area.
