Fiona Kennedy - Associate

Fiona Kennedy (she/her) is a second-year Master of Urban Planning and Policy student at the University of Illinois at Chicago, specializing in spatial planning with a focus on accessible design.

Prior to joining MUSE, Fiona was a research assistant at UIC’s Great Lakes ADA Center, where she integrated best practices of Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Transition Plans into the field of urban planning. In addition, she worked on the deployment of the sidewalk accessibility tool Project Sidewalk.

Prior to graduate school, Fiona worked for a non-profit bike-sharing system in Omaha, Nebraska. She addressed inequities in access to transportation and recreation by developing and managing their equity program. In recognition of this work, Fiona was named a 2021 Change Maker at the Greater Omaha Chamber’s Young Profession Summit and nominated for Omaha by Design’s 2021 Young Urbanist Award.
